Walks Around Mussoorie

When the clouds don’t get in the way, the walks around Mussoorie offer great views. Camel’s Back Rd is a popular 3km promenade from Kulri Bazaar to Gandhi Chowk, and passes a rock formation that looks like a camel. There are a couple of good mountain viewpoints along the way, and you can ride a horse (one way/return ₹200/250) along the trail if you start from the Gandhi Chowk end. An enjoyable, longer walk (5km one way) starts at the Picture Palace Cinema , goes past Union Church and the clock tower to Landour and the Sisters’ Bazaar area.

West of Gandhi Chowk, a more demanding walk is to the Jwalaji Temple on Benog Hill. The route passes through thick forest and offers some fine views.

Travel Tips

Patience Is Important: Don’t sweat the stuff you can’t control. Life is much too short to be angry & annoyed all the time. Did you miss your bus? No worries, there will be another one. ATMs out of money? Great! Take an unplanned road trip over to the next town and explore. Sometimes freakouts happen regardless.
Just take a deep breath and remind yourself that it could be worse.
Wake Up Early:Rise at sunrise to have the best attractions all to yourself while avoiding crowds. It’s also a magical time for photos due to soft diffused light, and usually easier to interact with locals. Sketchy areas are less dangerous in the morning too. Honest hardworking people wake up early; touts, scammers, and criminals sleep in.
Laugh At Yourself:You will definitely look like a fool
many times when traveling to new places. Rather than get embarrassed, laugh at yourself. Don’t be afraid to screw up, and don’t take life so seriously.
Stash Extra Cash :Cash is king around the world. Make sure to stash some in a few different places. If you lose your wallet, your card stops working, or the ATMs run out of money, you’ll be glad you did.
Meet Local People :Make it a point to avoid other travelers from time to time and start conversations with local people. Basic English is spoken widely all over the world, so it’s easier to communicate with them than you might think, especially when you combine hand gestures and body language.
Learn from those who live in the country you’re visiting. People enrich your travels more than sights do.
Pack A Scarf:This simple piece of cotton cloth is one of my most useful travel accessories with many different practical applications. It’s great for sun protection, a makeshift towel, carrying stuff around, an eye mask, and much more.
Observe Daily Life:If you really want to get a feel for the pulse of a place, I recommend spending a few hours sitting in a park or on a busy street corner by yourself just watching day to day life happen in front of you.
Slow down your thoughts and pay close attention to the details around you. The smells, the colors, human interactions, and sounds. It’s a kind of meditation — and you’ll see stuff you never noticed before.
Back Everything Up:Keep both digital and physical copies of your passport, visas, driver’s license, birth certificate, health insurance card, serial numbers, and important phone numbers ready to go in case of an emergency.Backup your files & photos on an external hard drive as well as online with software.
Volunteer Occasionally:Make it a point to volunteer some of your time
for worthwhile projects when traveling. Not only is it a very rewarding experience, but you’ll often learn more about the country and its people while also making new friends.

Healthy Foods That Give You Every Nutrient You Need

Imagine this: It's 5 p.m. and you realize that not a single piece of fruit or veggie has passed your lips. Of course, that's never happened to you. But if you ever find yourself in that situation, don't just throw in the healthy eating towel—instead, load your body with the nutrients it's been missing with just a few bites of these foods.

The term “superfoods” is one that is often overused and misunderstood. Although there is no scientific definition to qualify a superfood, in the nutrition world, it signifies a single food that's jam-packed with good-for-you nutrients that help keep your body healthy. There are many, many foods that are super, but as the saying goes, “don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”

Since no single food can provide every single nutrient your body needs in the exact amount needed, your best bet is to eat a whole bunch of healthy fare, all of which balance each other out. That’s also why you may have heard the phrase “eat the rainbow”—the more colors are on your plate, the wider variety of nutrients you’re eating.

Paragliding In Mussoorie

Paragliding is one of the dreams one wishes to fulfill ONCE in his lifetime. Mussoorie gives the dreamers a chance to make their wish come true. One doesn’t have to be concerned about the safety as the instructors are well trained for that. Paragliding at Mussoorie lake offers a person with the fascinating view of hills, lakes and valleys in Mussoorie.

Paragliding is the most simple form to fly and all you require is a para glider. A paraglider is a non-motorized, foot-launched inflatable wing, which is easy to transport, launch, and land. It is constructed of rip-stop nylon or high stress polyester fabric. The pilot is clipped into a harness and is in a comfortable sitting position. The harness and the Paraglider attached by sturdy kevlar lines. The Para gliders can fly in the air for hours with the help of the glider and climb to altitudes, more than 10,000 feet high or opt for cross-country flying adventure covering vast distances.

Popularly known as the Queen of Hills, this charming hill station, 34 kms from Dehradun is situated at an altitude of 2003 mts in the Garhwal hills above sea level. Mussoorie is one the beautiful hill stations in India and the most frequently visited. It provides excellent respite to people who want relief from the hot sultry conditions of the plains, especially since it is close enough to the capital to make just weekend trip. Also, major Hindu pilgrimage sites like Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Haridwar, Rishikesh are not far from this place.

In 1820, Captain Young of the British army was influenced by the beauty of this place and made it his residence. The name, Mussoorie is derived from plants of 'Mussoorie' which were found in abundance here. After its discovery, this hill station gradually developed as a centre of education, business, tourism and beauty.

Grilled Vegetable Sandwich Recipe, Easy Indian Evening Snacks

Grilled vegetable sandwich recipe featuring boiled potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, a generous amount of butter, and some spicy chutney. In case the name is confusing, this is a sandwich that is grilled with a vegetable filling, not a sandwich with a filling of grilled vegetables. Or, did I just confuse you all further?

Anyway, this is my kind of sandwich, you guys. It's immensely versatile and you can have one for breakfast, a snack, at a picnic, served a party, you know? One of those wonderful evening snack recipes that turn out great each time and can show up anywhere and look like its dressed for the occasion.

If you love to experiment with bread and fillings, I highly recommend this bread roll with paneer filling that's one of the most popular . Adding cheese toguacamole sandwiches and these cheese sandwiches with mint chutney, perfect for a picnic or your tiffin box.
